If you love cruising with a touch of style, comfort and modern flair, Celebrity Apex is the kind of ship that makes you feel instantly at home. She’s elegant without trying too hard, beautifully designed, and full of those little thoughtful details that make a holiday feel just that bit more special. Apex is part of Celebrity’s Edge class, which means she’s packed with clever spaces, great dining and a grown up atmosphere that feels calm, warm and beautifully refined.
If you’re thinking about booking a cruise on Celebrity Apex or you’re simply curious what all the fuss is about, here’s everything you need to know.
Cabins and Suites: Stylish, Spacious and Surprisingly Clever
One thing Celebrity does brilliantly is cabins that feel more like hotel rooms than cruise cabins, and Apex is no exception: bright and airy, modern but comfortable. Here’s the lowdown on the most popular staterooms.
Inside and Oceanview Cabins
Perfectly proportioned, well designed and great if you’re keeping things simple. An inside cabin or one with ‘just’ a sea view is no bad choice, with well though out layouts, basically just a balcony cabin without the balcony.
Infinite Veranda Cabins
Some people love them, and some people hate them, either way they are one of the standout features of Celebrity Apex. Instead of a traditional balcony, the entire window drops down at the touch of a button, turning your whole cabin into one big indoor-outdoor space. It’s modern, bright and a lovely step up if you enjoy fresh air and sea views. If you’ve ever been on a River Cruise, you may be familiar with the design, as they’re almost identical to those you’ll find sailing the calmer waters inland.
Concierge and AquaClass
Concierge gives you a few extra perks and priority touches such as an exclusive welcome lunch and a personalised concierge service. AquaClass gives you access to the gorgeous spa areas, and in-stateroom fitness equipment including yoga mats, and the exclusive-to-Aqua Blu restaurant, which is perfect if you enjoy a lighter, more relaxed dining style.
Suites and The Retreat
If you’re in the mood to treat yourself, the suites on Apex are a real step up. Bigger staterooms, priority boarding, butler service and a premium drinks package included! You also get exclusive access to The Retreat, a private area with its own sun deck, hot tub and pool, lounge and the retreat-only restaurant Luminae. It has that little hint of luxury without feeling over the top. Top level suites also include extras like unlimited speciality dining, hot tubs on balconies and more!
Dining on Apex: Some of the Best at Sea
Celebrity is known for great food, and Apex absolutely delivers.
Main Dining Rooms
Apex has four complimentary main restaurants, each with its own style and signature dishes. It keeps things interesting, and every space feels different enough that dinner never gets repetitive. Each restaurant has it’s own exclusive dishes to match their vibe, so it’s worth trying them all.
Cosmopolitan – Contemporary and stylish, with a globally inspired menu that feels modern and fresh. A great all‑rounder and an easy first pick if you’re not sure where to start.
Cyprus – Light, bright and Mediterranean‑leaning, with flavours that feel fresh and relaxed. Lovely if you enjoy seafood, lighter dishes and a calmer dinner vibe.
Normandie – Classic and a little more refined, with French‑inspired dishes and a slightly more formal feel without being stuffy. Ideal for a slower, indulgent evening.
Tuscan – Warm, rich and comforting, focusing on Italian‑style dishes. Perfect if you love pasta, bold flavours and food that feels like a proper hug at the end of the day.
A quick tip, if you find you like one restaurant more than the others, if you ask nicely, you can order the exclusive menu items from any of the restaurants. So for example, if you’re seated in Cyprus but really want to try a dish from Tuscan, they can make it happen.
Oceanview Café
Celebrity Apex’s buffet, but don’t let that put you off. Bright, airy and full of choice. Great for breakfast and lunch, and ideal when you want something quick and casual. The quality here is a real step up in comparison to some of the other cruise lines, so don’t count it out for an evening meal. I’ve been known to eat here rather than at Luminae.
Speciality Dining
If you like a treat, the speciality restaurants are exceptional – here’s a just a flavour of what’s on offer.
Fine Cut Steakhouse for premium cuts and all things meat, definitely worth a trip if you love a steak.
Raw on 5 for fresh sushi and seafood with a modern twist. A real favourite of mine, the sushi rolls are delicious.
Eden Restaurant for creative dishes in a truly stunning space – the after views are out of this world, just like the food.
Le Petit Chef is French-inspired cuisine, offering a fun, interactive dining experience you’ll never forget, the kids would love it.
The Rooftop Garden Grill is an outdoor venue offering gourmet burgers and other BBQ favourites, perfect for al fresco dining.
There’s so much variety that even on a longer cruise, meals feel exciting and fresh.
Bars and Lounges: Relaxed, Stylish and Made for Evenings at Sea
Apex has some of the best bar spaces Celebrity has ever designed.
The Martini Bar
A classic on every Celebrity ship, and always the heart of the action. Great atmosphere, talented bartenders and the perfect spot for a pre dinner drink. Keep your eyes peeled for the chandelier show, it’s awesome.
Craft Social
A beer lovers paradise, and a great spot to catch some live sport if that’s your vibe. A great list of craft beers available, and some food options to for a small charge.
Café al Bacio
One of my favourite places on board, right in the heart of the ship and a perfect place for people watching. Enjoy a freshly brewed coffee or even a cocktail, alongside complimentary snacks and pastries.
The Club
That’s right, there’s even a club on board. By day it’s a chilled venue offering quizzes and game shows, as well as the obligatory bingo. But by night, it’s a fantastic spot to have a boogie ‘til the early hours with other liked-minded folk.
The Sunset Bar
A gorgeous outdoor space for sailaways, sunsets and lazy afternoons. With incredible aft views, it’s the perfect place to toast a fantastic port day as you set sail to your next destination.
Eden Bar
Part lounge, part bar, part experience. It’s one of the most unique spaces on board. The huge glass windows at the aft fill the space with light during the day, making it a truly amazing place to be and unlike anything else at sea. By night, the vibe becomes more quirky cocktail bar and there’s often some incredible performances to enjoy. Get here early for a prime spot.
The Retreat Lounge and Bar
If you’re in a suite, this is your calm little hideaway with drinks, snacks and beautiful views.
There’s a space for every mood, whether you want calm, lively or something in between.
The Magic Carpet: Yes, It Really Is as Cool as It Looks
The orange platform on the side of the ship isn’t just for show. The Magic Carpet moves between decks and changes function depending on the time of day. Sometimes it’s a bar. Sometimes it’s a dining venue. Sometimes it’s a lounge. It’s modern, clever and a bit of a conversation starter, and rightly so, there’s something quite surreal about hanging off the side of the ship with a glass of bubbles!
Pools, Sun Decks and Spa Spaces
Apex is designed for relaxation, and it shows – there’s loads of spaces to enjoy whatever vibe you’re looking for.
The Main Pool Deck
Bright, open and stylish. Plenty of loungers and a more relaxed atmosphere than you’d expect on a ship this size. The pool is huge for a cruise ship, and if you’re early enough, you can get those lengths in! There’s also a fantastic bar here, perfect for soaking up the sun with a cocktail.
The Solarium
A covered adults only pool area with warm, calm vibes. Perfect when the weather isn’t playing along or you want something quieter. It feels a little like the subtropical swimming paradise at Center Parcs. IYKYK.
The Spa
Huge, beautifully designed and full of lovely spaces, and a real bonus if you’re staying in AquaClass. Heated loungers, relaxing rooms, incredible forward-views and treatments that feel properly luxurious. Pop down for a tour of the gym and spa on embarkation day and you’ll see what I mean.
Entertainment: Classy, Creative and Never Over the Top
The theatre shows on Apex are next level; modern, artistic and very Celebrity. Expect aerial performances, live music, immersive sets and quality production values. But around the ship you’ll also find live musicians, intimate shows, acoustic sessions and plenty of casual entertainment without ever feeling overwhelming.
Who Will Love Celebrity Apex?
Apex is perfect for you if you enjoy:
A slightly more grown up cruise atmosphere
Stylish, modern ship design
Great food and delicious cocktails
Calm, airy spaces
A touch of luxury without full formality
It really suits couples, friends, solo travellers and anyone who wants something polished, relaxing and beautifully designed. Don’t worry though, families are welcome and you will see children on board, but this isn’t Royal Caribbean. So if you’re looking for a family focused cruise with the entertainment and activities to match, Celebrity may not be the best option for you.
Leeroy’s Final Thoughts
Celebrity Apex was my first ever cruise, and it’s design drew me in before I even board. She is a gorgeous ship that offers modern luxury in a way that feels warm, comfortable and effortlessly stylish (just like me… ahem). From the Infinite Veranda cabins to the fantastic dining, the calm pool areas and the beautifully designed lounges, she’s a ship that makes you feel instantly settled. Whether you’re new to Celebrity or already a fan, Apex is the kind of ship you board once and immediately start thinking about your next sailing. You have been warned!
